The car’s controls
Last night I dreamt that my good friends A and O gave me a car. The car, when I got in was Very spacious! It was white inside and I could almost stand up straight in it with plenty of leg room in front. I loved it! The trouble was, it had no steering wheel. At each side of my seat was a tall pole with a bit of a kink where the hand goes… coming up to about shoulder height for me. This was used for steering and, I assume, other things too. I struggled with the pedals as well. Their ‘plates’ were wobbly and inclined to curve underfoot. I gather this was for comfort and took my shoes off. They did fit well under my feet then. The brake pedal was sort of recessed, so not easy to reach when needed. In short, I found myself very uncertain out on the road and inclined to get myself into a mess in traffic. As I gained confidence, it went smoother, though I have this vague sense of not being entirely sure which direction I was meant to be going.
Again, I know there was a lot more to the dream that I wanted to remember, but they escape me now. I know there was a point where I was looking at a picture of – or the real thing… you know how dreams go – of what I thought was the Banespa building in Sao Paulo, but, after arguing the toss for a while, we noted the different style of buses and cars. In the end, it turned out to be a building in New York.
